11 Family Members Die in Kohat Flooding

Kohat: In a devastating incident in Kohat’s Old Bazid Khel area, 11 members of a family have lost their lives due to heavy rainfall causing water to flood their basement. The victims include six children, three women, and two men, all from the same family.

Rescue officials reported that the rainwater surged into the basement where the family members were sleeping, leading to the tragic loss. Initial recovery efforts have located 11 bodies, including that of a missing girl who was found later.

Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. In response to the ongoing monsoon conditions, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flood alert. The NDMA cautioned that the risk of flash floods and urban flooding remains high, advising the public to avoid crossing bridges during floods and to seek safety in secure locations.
