15 dead, 64 injured in Chakwal bus accident

CHAKWAL: At least 15 people were killed while 64 were injured in a bus accident near Kallar Kahar.
According to initial reports, the bus was carrying a wedding party and was heading to Lahore from Islamabad.
The reason for the accident is believed to be the vehicle’s brake failure. The driver lost control and according to rescue officials, the bus went off track and hit three vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
Chakwal’s Deputy Commissioner Qurat-ul-Ain said that the injured included women and children.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed relevant authorities to provide the best medical treatment to the injured.
The PM expressed grief over the loss of lives and prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace and for the early recovery of the injured.
Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Deputy Speaker Zahid Akram Durrani also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives.
