DUBAI: Brigadier Ahmad Al Saadi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, attended the launch of the fifth Al Wafaa Ramadan Football Championship.
The event, which took place in Al Warqaa Park, was joined by key personnel, including Colonel Saeed Al Madhani, Deputy Director of Al Rashidiya Police Station; Ghanem Ahmed, Tournament Director; Fatima Abu Hujeir, Tournament Coordinator; and numerous strategic partners responsible for organising the tournament.
This year, 24 teams from diverse communities across Dubai will participate in the championship hosted by the Positive Spirit initiative for the second consecutive year.
Brigadier Al Saadi emphasised that organising the Ramadan tournament aligns with the Dubai Police’s commitment to fostering community engagement through sports and promoting happiness and well-being among its members while encouraging them to adopt sports as a lifestyle. He also commended the preparations and readiness exhibited by participating teams.
Scheduled to run until the 19th of Ramadan during evening hours, the tournament aims to provide young people with productive sports activities throughout the holy month.
