QUETTA: As many as nine personnel of Balochistan Constabulary were martyred in a bomb attack in Bolan on Monday.
According to early reports, the bomb attack near the Kambri bridge area also left nine others injured, who were shifted to Divisional Headquarters Hospital. The police later said that three of the injured were in critical condition and were shifted to Combined Military Hospital in Sibi.
Kachhi’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mahmood Notezai said that the preliminary evidence suggests it was a suicide attack. “However, the exact nature of the blast will be ascertained after investigations,” he said.
While strongly condemning the terrorism incident in Bolan and also expressing sympathy with the families of the martyred personnel, President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed their resolve to rid the country of the menace of terrorism.
President Alvi said terrorists would not be successful in carrying out their nefarious agenda.
PM Shehbaz said terrorism in Balochistan was part of the nefarious designs to create instability in the country.
The president and the prime minister paid tribute to the valour of the country’s martyred troops.
They prayed to Allah Almighty to grant elevated ranks to the souls of martyrs in heaven and to grant patience to their families.
Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo also condemned the incident, saying: “A conspiracy is being hatched to keep the province from progressing by creating unrest and instability.”
He added that all these conspiracies will be foiled with the support of the people.
He also offered his condolences to the families of those who were martyred.
