Islamabad: In iddat case, the district and sessions court has reserved its verdict on the pleas filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, seeking suspension of their sentence. The decision is set to be announced on June 27 at 3pm.
Earlier this month, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed the district court to decide on the suspension pleas within 10 days and gave a one-month timeline for the petition against their conviction. The directives followed multiple petitions filed by the couple, seeking a prompt decision from the court.
Bushra Bibi had separately filed a plea in the sessions court seeking suspension of her sentence. The court hearing on the annulment of their conviction has been adjourned till July 2.

In January, Khawar Maneka, Bushra’s ex-husband, challenged the validity of their marriage, arguing it was conducted during her iddat period. Subsequently, a trial court sentenced the couple to seven years in prison and imposed fines on them.
Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have filed appeals challenging their conviction and seeking suspension of their sentences, with the case recently transferred to the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka.
