Rawalpindi: The Security forces have eliminated 43 terrorists from Fitna-Al-Khawarij and other militant groups in a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted since December 9 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, the military’s media wing, ISPR, announced on Friday.
On the night of December 12-13, an IBO in Lakki Marwat District led to the elimination of six Khawarij militants. A total of 18 terrorists have been neutralized in KP since December 9.
In Balochistan, security forces conducted two separate IBOs in Musa Khel and Panjgur Districts on December 13. Intense exchanges of fire resulted in the deaths of 10 terrorists. Since December 9, 25 militants have been neutralized in the province.
The operations have dealt a major blow to militant groups, reinforcing the security forces’ determination to eliminate threats to national security.
President Asif Ali Zardari commended the armed forces, saying, “The nation stands united with our brave soldiers in their mission to eradicate terrorism.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the forces’ sacrifices, calling the operations a testament to the country’s resolve to uproot terrorism.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also lauded the timely actions, adding, “With the support of the people, we will completely eliminate Khawarij terrorists.”
The ISPR reaffirmed the military’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating, “These operations will continue until peace is restored and Khawarij are eliminated. Pakistan’s security forces are determined to wipe out this menace.”
