Islamabad: After 17 years, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a dinner in honor of the England cricket team on their visit to Pakistan.
According to Leading News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif organized a dinner in honor of the English team at the Prime Minister’s House, on this occasion, Pakistani team players and officials were also present.
Addressing the dinner given in honor of the England cricket team in Islamabad today (Monday), the Prime Minister said that it is a historic occasion that the England team has come to Pakistan after seventeen years, unfortunately the last visit was in 2005. When Pakistan was facing severe extremism and terrorist attacks.
He said that Pakistan has excellent relations with England and the cricket team is one of the important elements. The Prime Minister thanked the British High Commissioner and the British Government for supporting Pakistani cricket.
He congratulated the England cricket team for defeating Pakistan in the Rawalpindi Test match. On this occasion, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Pakistani cricket legends including Oval hero Fazal Mehmood and Little Master Hanif Muhammad.
