Dubai: In a landmark ceremony reflecting the pinnacle of institutional excellence and innovation, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai proudly raised the prestigious “Hamdan bin Mohammed Flag for Government Services 2024.” The event took place under the esteemed patronage and presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and General Security in Dubai, and His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai.
The award, a symbol of superior service delivery and transformative government work, underscores GDRFA’s continued role in advancing the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum — turning public service into a global benchmark, rooted in innovation and people-centered development.
Also in attendance were Her Excellency Eman Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Evaluation and Studies at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA, assistant directors general, senior officials, and staff members.
The ceremony commenced with a visual presentation highlighting GDRFA’s significant transformation milestones and achievements in digital innovation, operational efficiency, and customer experience. A patriotic poem followed, encapsulating the pride and unity of the institution’s workforce.

In his address, H.E. Lt. General Mohammed Al Marri extended gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his visionary leadership. He emphasized that the Hamdan Flag is more than a recognition—it is a renewed commitment to societal impact.

During the event, the Directorate honored the teams responsible for leading key improvement projects and implementing the 360 Services Policy—demonstrating a strong culture of acknowledgment and appreciation for excellence.
The official handover and raising of the flag at the Directorate’s headquarters served as a defining moment, marking the culmination of collective efforts and a renewed pledge to continual development.
