DUBAI: Keolis MHI, a leading rail operator in Dubai, marked Emirati Women’s Day with a special event in collaboration with the University of Birmingham Dubai, celebrating women’s achievements and their growing role in the rail sector.
The programme featured interactive workshops, professional dialogues and skill-development activities aimed at empowering women, expanding networks, and reinforcing diversity as a driver of operational efficiency and innovation.
Opening the event, University of Birmingham Dubai Provost Prof Yusra Mouzughi said empowering women in transport was vital for building resilient and inclusive mobility systems. She highlighted the university’s specialised MSc in Railway Systems Engineering and Integration as a key contributor to developing skilled professionals in the region.

Keolis MHI acting managing director Vikas Sardana said the occasion underlined the sector’s reliance on women’s contributions in safety, operations and innovation, adding that diversity strengthened the industry’s local and global standing.
