QUETTA: Security forces killed four militants during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mastung district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out on reports about the presence of armed men linked with proscribed organisations.
The ISPR said the militants were “engaged effectively” and killed after an exchange of fire. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from their possession.
It added that the militants were involved in “numerous terrorist activities” in the area. A sanitisation operation was under way to clear the locality of any remaining threats.
