DUBAI: India handed Pakistan a six-wicket defeat in their Super Fours encounter of the Asia Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, successfully chasing down a competitive 172-run target with seven balls to spare.
India’s openers Abhishek and Shubman Gill set the tone with a 105-run stand inside 10 overs before Gill fell for 47. Captain Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for a duck, but Sharma’s blistering 74 off 39 balls, featuring five sixes and six fours, kept the chase on track. Tilak Varma (30* off 19) and Hardik Pandya (7*) sealed the victory.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf impressed with 2/26, while Faheem Ashraf and Abrar Ahmed claimed one wicket apiece.
Earlier, Pakistan posted 171/5 after Farhan top-scored with 58 from 45 balls, supported by contributions from Nawaz (21) and Faheem (20* off 8). India’s Shivam Dube picked up two wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav and Pandya chipped in with one each.
