ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday strongly rejected Indian media reports claiming that the “not valid for Israel” clause had been removed from Pakistani passports, terming the allegations “false and misleading propaganda.”
According to the Foreign Office, no modification has been made to Pakistan’s passport policy, and the Israel-specific restriction remains printed on every passport issued in the country.
Officials said the claim, circulated by an Indian news channel, was baseless and appeared to be part of a “pattern of disinformation” aimed at misleading regional audiences and creating diplomatic confusion.
The Director General of Immigration and Passports also confirmed that the travel restriction clause — allowing travel to all countries except Israel — is intact and appears on every valid passport.
He added that Pakistan’s passport printing format, design, and security features remain unchanged, and no directive has been issued to alter or remove the Israel clause.
The Ministry of Information reiterated that Pakistan’s stance toward Israel is “firm and consistent,” stressing that the country has neither recognized Israel nor engaged in any diplomatic or technical dialogue.
Officials reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to a transparent and principled foreign policy and condemned foreign media attempts to circulate unfounded claims undermining the country’s position.
