Pakistan, China Conduct Joint Counterterrorism Exercise Warrior-IX

NCTC Pabbi hosts Distinguished Visitors Day; troops display high-level operational synergy

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) are carrying out joint counterterrorism exercise Warrior-IX from 28 November to 14 December 2025, aimed at deepening interoperability and boosting military cooperation between the two long-standing defence partners.

According to ISPR, the Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) was held on 11 December at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) in Pabbi. China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, attended as the Chief Guest, alongside senior Chinese dignitaries, while the Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army participated as the Guest of Honour.

During the visit, guests were briefed on the objectives and operational framework of the exercise. They observed a series of counterterrorism demonstrations showcasing urban combat skills, coordinated assaults, hostage-rescue techniques, and rapid response drills. Officials praised the participating troops for their professionalism, preparedness, and strong operational synergy.

ISPR noted that Warrior-IX underscores the robust defence partnership between Pakistan and China and reflects the shared commitment of both militaries to enhancing regional peace, security, and stability.
