Dubai airports greet travellers with special stamp for World Cup milestone

Commemorative initiative marks 30th edition of Dubai World Cup at Meydan

DUBAI: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) has introduced a special commemorative passport stamp to welcome travellers arriving through Dubai airports, marking the 30th edition (Pearl Jubilee) of the Dubai World Cup 2026.

The global horse racing event is scheduled to take place on March 28 at Meydan Racecourse and is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious and valuable competitions in the sport.

According to officials, the initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to supporting international events and enhancing the travel experience for visitors. The commemorative stamp, featuring the Dubai World Cup 2026 logo, is being placed on passports of incoming travellers, offering a symbolic and memorable welcome.

Authorities said the move also highlights the United Arab Emirates’ pride in hosting major global events while reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading international hub.

In addition to the stamp initiative, GDRFA Dubai has deployed specialised passport control teams at airports to facilitate smooth and efficient entry procedures for participants and visitors, ensuring high standards of security and service.

Senior officials said the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to introduce innovative solutions that improve customer experience while reflecting the country’s values of hospitality.

Dubai Racing Club officials also welcomed the move, noting that the arrival experience plays a key role in shaping visitors’ impressions of the event. They said the initiative sets the tone for a world-class experience as the city prepares to host the milestone edition of the Dubai World Cup.

The Pearl Jubilee edition of the event is expected to draw global attention, with participants and spectators from around the world arriving in Dubai for the internationally renowned race.
