Pak Army condemns attacks on Saudi energy facilities, reaffirms solidarity

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military strongly condemned the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial facilities, describing them as an unnecessary escalation that risks undermining ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the Middle East conflict peacefully, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The statement was issued during the 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference at the General Headquarters, chaired by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir.

“The forum noted with concern and vehemently condemned the latest attacks on KSA’s petrochemical and industrial complex as an unnecessary escalation which spoils sincere efforts to resolve the conflict through peaceful means,” the ISPR statement read. It added that the restraint shown by Saudi Arabia despite provocations has enabled mediation and diplomatic resolution, but such aggressions could jeopardize ongoing peace efforts.

Earlier, the Foreign Office of Pakistan also denounced Iranian strikes on Saudi energy facilities, calling them a “serious violation” of territorial integrity and a “dangerous escalation” in the Middle East conflict. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a “Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement” last year, under which any attack on either country is considered an act of aggression against both.

The forum paid tribute to martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians, reaffirming that their sacrifices form the foundation of Pakistan’s national security. The COAS commended the armed forces for professionalism, operational excellence, and sustained intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations.

The military top brass reviewed internal and external security challenges, vowing to pursue and eliminate terrorist proxies operating on the behest of external sponsors, including India, and their facilitators without exception. The pace of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq will continue until terrorist safe havens and the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan are decisively addressed.

The forum appreciated government efforts to end the Middle East conflict, calling for restraint, dialogue, and de-escalation, while reiterating Pakistan’s role as a responsible regional stakeholder. It also rejected disinformation and false flag narratives attributed to India and expressed concern over human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Munir directed commanders to maintain high operational readiness and professionalism, expressing full confidence in the armed forces’ ability to counter all threats and protect Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, condemning the attack on the Al Jubeil Oil Facility and reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity with the kingdom. He praised Saudi restraint under the leadership of Mohammed bin Salman and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional de-escalation and peace initiatives.
