TANDOJAM: Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) scholar Dr Aasia Panhwer’s research paper won third position among participants from 30 universities at the 32nd conference on ‘Food Crises in Pakistan’.
The conference was organised by the Pakistan Society of Food Scientists and Technologists in collaboration with Muhammad Nawaz Sharif (MNS) Agriculture University, Multan, at Bahauddin Zakaria University, Multan.
Scholars from Pakistan’s 30 universities presented their papers on various topics and added their products and ideas related to food.
Dr Aasia Panhwer, a scholar of Institute of Food Sciences and Technologies (IFST) at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, presented her paper on ‘Development of Green Chili Chutney and its Marketing’ and also presented the manufactured products at the display centre.
She got third position and was awarded a shield and cash prize. Dr Aasia also received a shield for her paper presentation.
On the occasion, Dr Aasia was also offered to make joint projects on organic vegetable in Sindh by BZU and MNS Agriculture University.
Sindh Agriculture University Vice Chancellor Dr Fateh Marri congratulated Dr Aasia on her excellent performance.
While also felicitating Dr Aijaz Soomro, Director Institute of Food Sciences and Technologies, Dr Fateh Marri said that due to the joint efforts and their continuous hard work, the institute is making a name for itself. It is hoped that the students will also benefit from such technologies and develop such ideas on a commercial basis, the VC added.
