ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Hazardous Materials Management Centre and the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation in the safe handling of hazardous materials within the agricultural sector.
The agreement establishes a general framework for regulating the circulation, storage and management of hazardous materials, in line with national priorities for food security, environmental sustainability and digital transformation.
The MoU was signed at the headquarters of the Hazardous Materials Management Centre by Khalfan Abdullah Al Mansoori and Tariq Ahmed Al Ameri, in the presence of officials and specialists from both entities.

The partnership aims to develop integrated systems for hazardous materials management, streamline regulatory procedures and improve services for farmers, livestock breeders and agricultural producers. It also focuses on strengthening supply chain efficiency, boosting investor confidence and supporting Abu Dhabi’s competitiveness in agriculture, manufacturing and logistics.

Both sides agreed to launch joint initiatives covering digital transformation projects, environmental programmes and research collaboration. The agreement also enables the exchange of technical data through direct institutional channels, supporting faster processes and simplifying the customer journey.
In addition, the cooperation includes awareness campaigns to educate stakeholders and the public about hazardous materials risks, promoting a culture of safety and prevention across the community.
Officials said the MoU will contribute to improving operational efficiency, enhancing food and agricultural production quality, attracting investment, and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a regional leader in food security and environmental safety.
