AIM Global Foundation and Canopy Sands Development forge strategic partnership

ABU DHABI: AIM Global Foundation and Canopy Sands Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop an international convention and exhibition centre in the Bay of Lights, Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

The signing took place during the 2024 AIM Congress held in Abu Dhabi.

The MoU signifies the commitment of both parties to collaborate on transforming an 11-hectare land site into a state-of-the-art facility that will attract international events and exhibitions, contributing to the economic growth and development of the region.

Dawood Al Shezawi, President of AIM Global Foundation, emphasised the significance of the partnership in fostering global collaboration and investment. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to empower the world’s investment by facilitating opportunities for productivity and expansion. Together with Canopy Sands Development, we are confident that the international convention and exhibition centre will become a catalyst for growth and prosperity in Sihanoukville and beyond.”

A senior representative from Canopy Sands Development expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with AIM Global Foundation. The collaboration aims to establish a world-class convention and exhibition centre, designed to enhance tourism and foster economic and cultural exchange in Cambodia.

The development of the convention and exhibition centre will leverage Canopy Sands Development’s expertise in real estate development and local regulatory compliance, combined with AIM Global Foundation’s global network and experience in convention centre management and operations. The project aims to attract international events and exhibitions, driving tourism and investment in Cambodia while promoting collaboration across various sectors.
