AJMAN: The Ajman Department of Finance conducted a workshop for government agencies in the emirate to implement the general budget for the fiscal year 2024, as mandated by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Representative of HH the Ruler of Ajman for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Chairman of the Ajman Department of Finance.
The workshop underscores the Department’s commitment to continuously supporting financial employees in government entities, equipping them with the necessary capabilities to achieve optimal financial performance.
His Excellency Marwan Al Ali, Director General of the Ajman Department of Finance, emphasised that the outlined directives seek to advance governmental objectives and priorities, as well as bolstering operational efficiency and public financial control procedures, while mitigating potential violations during budget implementation.
Al Ali stressed that conducting this workshop underscores the Department’s dedication to maintaining ongoing communication with relevant personnel across different government entities, aiming to address their requirements and keep them abreast of all new decisions on financial matters and the execution of the general budget. This commitment reflects the Department’s mission to provide effective support and emphasises its belief in the imperative of collaborative efforts to foster Ajman’s sustainable development and bolster its competitiveness.
Khalifa AlAleeli, Director of the Government Budgets Department, pointed out the pivotal role of the general budget in driving economic and social development through efficient allocation and utilisation of resources. He highlighted that the workshop’s objective is to enforce the adoption of best practices in government budget preparation, mitigate risks during implementation, and align expenditures with specific objectives towards enhancing operational efficiency, fostering transparency and flexibility, and promoting desired economic growth within the emirate.
It is worth mentioning that the Department organises a series of specialised financial workshops throughout the year to support government agencies in the emirate. Last November, it conducted a workshop on finalising the accounts for 2023.
