UAE: Al-Matiya Club celebrated the auspicious occasion of the 51st UAE National Day on Palm Deira Island, in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Lamis bint Hamad Al-Mualla (may God protect and preserve her) and his Excellency Awad Muhammad bin Al-Sheikh Mejren. The Ambassador of Grenada (Rose-Ann Benjamin) and the representative of the office of Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum (Evandro Oliverira) and the representative of the office of Sheikh Ahmed bin Faisal Al-Qasimi (Dunston Pereira) were also present for the occasion.
The ceremony included welcome speeches from the traditional Emirati Mohammed Al Mazrouei Harbiye Band who entertained with their performance. His Excellency Juma Madani, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Al Matiya club delivered a welcome speech to the audience, in which he congratulated the President of the UAE and the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. To showcase the unique acceptance of the UAE of the various cultures living here the ceremony included not only a traditional Emirati performance but also an Indian folkloric dance and a Turkish opera by the Syrian artist, Tammam.
The main sponsor also presented a message of thanks and congratulations on the occasion of the 51st National Day of the United Arab Emirates. Her Excellency the General Secretary & Vice-chairperson of the Al Matiya club, Munira Al Blooshi, spoke to the media on female empowerment with a word of thanks to pride to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, followed by the expected future endeavors of the club in Sports & culture. Special mention to the great artist and the director of the concert, Hassan Shatti, who orchestrated and directed the event in a distinctive way.
The closing of the ceremony was preceded by Her Highness Sheikha Lamis bint Hamad Al Mualla and Her Excellency Munira Al Blooshi, Secretary General and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, honoring the distinguished sponsors with special commemorative plaques marking the celebrations of the 51st National Day.
