ABU DHABI: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Faisal Niaz Tirmizi paid a courtesy call on Professor Mariet Westermann, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of the New York University (NYU), Abu Dhabi.
Ambassador Tirmizi praised the strategic vision of the New York University. He emphasised the university’s role in fostering a better intercultural understanding among students from over 120 nationalities studying in the campus.
The ambassador sought cooperation of the vice chancellor to extending cooperation between the NYU and universities in Pakistan.
With over six percent student representation from Pakistan, Professor Westermann agreed for more academic and research cooperation between the NYU and academic centres of excellence in Pakistan.
Ambassador Tirmizi also conducted a tour of the campus and interacted with students and faculty of the NYU.
