Amendment of transgender act is under-review, Chairman Senate

Islamabad: Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani has said that the amendment of the Transgender Act is being considered in the committee.

Talking to the media at the Parliament House, he said that the Transgender Bill is a bill of March 2018, which was passed before I became the chairman. He said that Mushtaq Ahmed has submitted amendments in the bill, which are being considered in the committee. Chairman Senate said that the upper house will not do anything that is against Islamic laws.

The chairman of the Senate said that he will resolve this issue with consultation, so this issue should not be given a political color. If necessary, they will also consult with the Ulama and the Islamic Ideological Council. Talking about the new finance minister, he said that Ishaq Dar has not contacted me. There is no objection if they will come and take the oath.
