DUBAI: UAE team members from GDRFA, who won gold medals at the Arab Track Championship held in Cairo, were honoured by Director-General Lt. General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri.
The ceremony took place at the Directorate’s headquarters in the presence of Deputy Director-General Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor. Several assistant directors and employees from various departments of GDRFA also attended the event.
During the ceremony, Lt. General Al Marri praised the winners and emphasised the importance of continuous training and efforts to achieve more championships for the country and to elevate Dubai Residency’s name across various sports platforms.
As part of the event, the logo of the Dubai Residency Cycling Team was also launched. Lt. General Al Marri stated that forming the new cycling team aligns with the Directorate’s goal to promote health and physical fitness among Dubai immigration officers and to enhance their quality of life. He reaffirmed GDRFA’s commitment to developing employees’ skills and representing the UAE with pride at both local and international competitions.
Team Manager Lt. Colonel Khalid Bin Mediya Al Falasi said that the launch of the Dubai Residency Cycling Team reflects a vision to promote physical fitness, competitive spirit, and a positive, healthy work environment among employees.
The Arab Track Championship was held over three days at the Cairo International Velodrome, with 150 cyclists from eight Arab countries participating. The UAE national team, comprising 26 cyclists, competed alongside the delegation in various categories.
