Armed Forces pay tribute to LN Mehfooz Shaheed on martyrdom anniversary

Military leadership vows to uphold legacy of courage and sacrifice

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Armed Forces on Wednesday paid glowing tribute to Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his martyrdom anniversary, reaffirming their resolve to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to ISPR, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, paid homage to the supreme sacrifice of Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed on behalf of the armed forces.

The military’s media wing said Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed remains a towering symbol of valour, sacrifice and unwavering devotion to the motherland. During the 1971 war at the Wagah sector, he displayed exceptional bravery while facing intense enemy fire and overwhelming resistance. Despite sustaining severe injuries, he continued to advance fearlessly and ultimately embraced martyrdom, setting an unparalleled example of courage and selflessness.

ISPR said his gallantry stands among the most illustrious chapters in the history of the Pakistan Armed Forces and embodies the spirit of professionalism, resilience and supreme sacrifice that defines the nation’s defenders.

The armed forces reiterated that the legacy of Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed will continue to inspire generations of soldiers and citizens, strengthening the bond between the military and the nation.

On the occasion, the Pakistan Armed Forces reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to defend the country against all threats, stating that the courage and sacrifice of national heroes like Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed will forever remain etched in the collective memory of the nation.
