Army chief Gen Asim Munir visits Bannu: ISPR

Rawalpindi – In a display of solidarity and unwavering commitment to the nation’s security, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir paid a visit to Bannu on Friday to inquire about the well-being of those injured in a tragic suicide bomb blast that occurred just the day before.

Gen Syed Asim Munir’s visit to Bannu involved a comprehensive assessment of the ongoing security operations and the general security landscape. During his visit, he met with officers and soldiers, applauding their relentless dedication and service to the nation, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in an official statement.

The COAS also made a special visit to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Bannu, where he personally met with the individuals who had sustained injuries during the recent suicide bomb blast. He expressed his deep condolences and assured them of the nation’s unwavering support.

“In this challenging time for Pakistan, the nation stood with the families of the martyrs,” Gen Syed Asim Munir remarked, acknowledging the solidarity and resilience of the Pakistani people in the face of adversity.

Addressing the recent surge in terrorist attacks in Bannu, Gen Asim Munir firmly stated, “Such cowardly acts cannot weaken our resolve.” He emphasized that the sacrifices made by our martyrs form the cornerstone of peace and stability in Pakistan.

The COAS reaffirmed the armed forces’ resolute determination to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the homeland and establish enduring peace. “Our brave armed forces are fully committed to eliminating this cancer of terrorism that plagues our nation,” he asserted.

Gen Syed Asim Munir’s visit to Bannu serves as a testament to the unity and resilience of Pakistan against acts of terror, while also highlighting the armed forces’ dedication to safeguarding the nation and ensuring a peaceful future for its citizens.
