Army played no role in Imran’s arrest: Khawaja Asif

Islamabad: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the army had no role in the arrest of Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif in a conversation with journalists at the Parliament House said that Imran Khan was not arrested by the army or the Rangers. The Rangers assisted the police in the arrest. Imran Khan is making false accusations against the army. Imran Khan is now justifying the attack on military installations and inciting people and looking for justification and excuse for organized attacks. Imran Khan is linking the army with these attacks ?

Khawaja Asif further said that the allies have not yet been consulted regarding the ban on Tehreek-e-Insaf, but if there is an urgent need, the allies will be consulted. A ban on PTI is not out of the question.

He said that Tehreek-e-Insaf formed a negotiation committee and also formed an alternative committee. If the negotiating committee leaves the PTI, there should be an alternative arrangement. In response to a question, Khawaja Asif said that Nawaz Sharif will definitely come to Pakistan.
