The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, praised Pakistan’s pivotal role in maintaining stability in the region during his visit to Islamabad. In discussions with Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Bayramov expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support and emphasized the strong fraternal ties between the two nations. General Munir commended the professionalism and valor of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
During a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Bayramov discussed bilateral and regional issues, conveying warm greetings from Azerbaijan’s leadership and expressing a desire to strengthen ties further. Discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and connectivity, with an emphasis on cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides agreed to identify new areas of economic cooperation and to bolster efforts in climate action and renewable energy. Bayramov also met with acting President Yusuf Raza Gilani, where he was congratulated on Baku’s selection as the host city for COP29 in November, with Pakistan pledging support for the event’s success.
