Babar Azam, Rizwan hold strong positions in ICC T20I rankings

In the latest ICC T20I rankings update, Pakistan’s dynamic batting pair Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have maintained their positions among the top batters. Babar Azam secured the fourth spot with a rating of 755, closely followed by Mohammad Rizwan at fifth with a rating of 746.

Australia’s Travis Head continues to lead the rankings, while India’s Suryakumar Yadav has climbed to the second position in the T20I rankings, bolstered by impressive performances in recent matches.

Indian Batters Surge in Rankings After Zimbabwe Series

Following India’s dominant 4-1 series victory against Zimbabwe, Indian skipper Shubman Gill has soared 36 places to 37th in the T20I batting rankings. Gill’s stellar form saw him accumulate 170 runs across five innings, eclipsing the rankings of stalwarts like Rohit Sharma (42nd) and Virat Kohli (51st), who recently retired from T20Is after a successful T20 World Cup 2024 campaign.

Muzarabani Climbs in Bowlers’ Rankings, Sundar and Mukesh Kumar Rise

Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani has ascended 11 places to 44th in the T20I bowlers’ rankings, following his commendable performance against India. Meanwhile, India’s Washington Sundar and Mukesh Kumar have also made significant strides, with Sundar moving up 36 spots to 46th and Mukesh Kumar advancing 21 places to 73rd.

Rashid, Nortje, and Hasaranga Lead Bowlers’ Rankings

England’s Adil Rashid maintains his stronghold as the No. 1 T20I bowler, with South Africa’s Anrich Nortje and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga closely trailing in second and third positions respectively.

In Test cricket, England’s comprehensive innings and 114-run victory over West Indies at Lord’s has seen several of their players surge in the ICC Test rankings. Ben Stokes’ squad delivered an emphatic performance, showcasing their prowess with both bat and ball.

England’s Top Performers Make Strides in Test Rankings

Harry Brook has climbed three places to seventh in the Test batting rankings, while Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope have also made significant gains, moving up to 13th and 29th positions respectively. Wicket-keeper Jamie Smith enters the rankings at 75th after a notable half-century against West Indies, while pace sensation Gus Atkinson debuts at 52nd among Test bowlers following a stellar 12-wicket haul in his maiden appearance.
