Bilawal Bhutto urges KP govt to combat terrorism, not Facilitate it

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari condemned the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for alleged missteps that he claimed revived terrorism in KP and Balochistan provinces. Speaking at a press conference in Peshawar, Bilawal blamed the PTI-led administrations for undermining the gains made against terrorism by the armed forces.

“Terrorism is on the rise once again in KP and Balochistan due to serious mistakes made during the PTI government,” Bilawal Bhutto asserted, without naming former Prime Minister Imran Khan directly. He accused the KP government of becoming complicit in terrorism rather than combating it over the past 15 years.

Highlighting the significance of the upcoming all-parties conference (APC) announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the newly launched Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, Bilawal emphasized the need for unity in addressing national security issues.

“When it comes to national security, partisan politics should be set aside,” Bilawal remarked. “The PPP stands firmly with our armed forces, and we are committed to constructive dialogue at the APC.”

Bilawal urged the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to include all stakeholders in national decisions and criticized the federal government for not consulting with PPP on the recent budget, which he criticized as overly burdensome for the poor.

“We must learn from past mistakes in decisions affecting our economy, foreign affairs, and security,” Bilawal stated, underscoring the need for inclusive policymaking.

The PPP leader reaffirmed his party’s participation in the upcoming APC, expressing hope that the conference would focus on practical solutions rather than rhetoric.
