Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed gratitude for the ‘Wall of Martyrs’ initiative during his visit to the Interior Ministry on Monday. Bilawal commended Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti for immortalizing the sacrifices of the country’s heroes.
In his interaction with the media after hoisting Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s picture at the ‘Wall of Martyrs,’ Bilawal emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by politicians, policemen, lawyers, judges, and army soldiers. He highlighted their role in achieving peace and eradicating terrorism from the country.
However, Bilawal raised concerns about a decision that, according to him, undermined the efforts of martyrs. He criticized the engagement with terrorists following the power transition in Afghanistan, pointing out the release of terrorists imprisoned in Pakistan and their resettlement in tribal areas.

Expressing worry about the implications of such decisions, Bilawal called for an investigation into the decision-making process. He insisted on making the intentions of those involved clear and stressed the need to prevent such decisions in the future.
Bilawal also addressed the issue of the presidential reference regarding Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He expressed gratitude to Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa for taking up the case and emphasized the importance of justice being seen to be done in the case.
In addition, Bilawal commented on India’s actions in Kashmir, urging international powers to review their support as he claimed India was repeatedly violating international laws and norms.
Concluding his statements, Bilawal reiterated the PPP’s commitment to engaging with Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of free and fair elections, as well as ‘One Man, One Vote.’
