Lahore: Police recovered a decomposed body from the outhouse (dera) of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Mian Aslam Iqbal in Lahore on Monday.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the deceased was a man around 40 years old, who died from gunshot wounds. The body, found in an advanced state of decomposition, has been sent for autopsy, while police continue efforts to identify him.
Authorities have registered a murder case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and collected forensic evidence from the scene.
Police revealed that the outhouse was rented by Arshad, a constable working with the Central Investigation Agency (CIA). Allegedly, he had set up a torture cell in the quarter. Arshad has been missing since the body was discovered, and a search operation is underway to locate him.

Who is Mian Aslam Iqbal?
Mian Aslam Iqbal is a PTI-backed Member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA) who previously served as Punjab’s Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Investment (2018-2022). He also briefly held the Information and Culture portfolio in 2019. Iqbal was Punjab’s Senior Minister under Parvez Elahi’s PTI-backed government from late 2022 to early 2023.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
