Cadet College Muzaffarabad holds 2nd Annual Parents’ Day

MUZAFFARABAD: Cadet College Muzaffarabad held its 2nd Annual Parents’ Day on Thursday with AJK Legislative Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar gracing the occasion as chief guest.

AJK minister Deewan Ali Khan Chughtai, a large number of senior officers, including secretaries of the AJK government, brigade commanders of Pakistan Army, notables of the area and parents of the cadets attended the ceremony.

An energetic parade contingent welcomed the chief guest with salami and guard of honour. Chaudhry Latif Akbar reviewed the parade and was delighted to witness the turn-out and smart drill of the cadets.

The programme formally started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by Naat.

An impressive PT show, march past, gymnastic and commando show were also displayed by the cadets.

Cadet College Muzaffarabad Principal Brigadier (retired) Dr Manzoor Ahmed Abbasi, SI (M), presented the institution’s annual report and highlighted exceptional performance of cadets in the domains of academics and co-curricular activities.

He informed the audience that Cadet College Muzaffarabad, which was established in 2018, is currently home to 300 cadets. He added that despite inadequate infrastructure, the college has made concerted efforts in the last five years to provide the best possible education and training to the cadets.

The college stood first in FSc exams in Mirpur Board this year.

He said that guest speakers, psychologists and trainers are continuously being invited for intellectual, social and moral development of the cadets. He requested the government to provide a sustained support to the institution for completion of infrastructure.

The principal also expressed profound gratitude to the worthy Legislative Assembly speaker and minister for sparing time to grace the ceremony. He also thanked all the dignitaries, distinguished guests and the parents for attending the ceremony.

Deewan Ali Khan Chughtai also addressed the gathering and appreciated the extraordinary performances of the cadets in various curricular and co-curricular activities. He also instructed the secretary HED and P&D to pursue the pending projects of the college.

While addressing the ceremony, Chaudhry Latif Akbar appreciated the performance of Cadet College Muzaffarabad for imparting well-rounded education to the cadets. He expressed deep appreciation for the faculty of the college for imparting quality education and laying strong career foundations for young cadets.

The chief guest also congratulated the principal on organising such a marvellous event and praised his efforts in making the college a reputed educational institution of the country in a short span of time.

He added that despite its limited resources Cadet College Muzaffarabad provides excellent training to the cadets and is progressing rapidly. Moreover, he assured all-out assistance for the uplift of the college. He urged upon all the concerned secretaries to ensure the inclusion of cadets’ mess and reception of the college in the current ADP. He also assured provision of funds for a college bus.

Later, the chief guest awarded trophies and certificates among the college’s outstanding performers in academic and various co-curricular activities.

He witnessed and praised numerous science projects and portrayals of arts created and presented by the cadets during the Science and Arts Exhibition. He appreciated efforts and talent of the cadets. The speaker endorsed remarks in the visitors’ book.

The parents and guests expressed great satisfaction and pleasure over the performance of their wards in various activities.
