Islamabad: In a candid interview on Geo News program ‘Jirga,’ Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar shared his unexpected journey to the prime minister’s chair. He expressed that he had never envisioned himself in this role.
During the interview, PM Kakar also emphasized the importance of adhering to the law, particularly in relation to the determination of the general election date, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Reflecting on the events of May 9, when vandalism and arson took place, PM Kakar remarked that the world witnessed the tragedy, and international newspapers reported on it. He firmly asserted that any form of manipulation is unacceptable in a government.
PM Kakar went on to emphasize that the government’s primary objective is to avoid creating the perception of seeking retribution against individuals accused in connection with the May 9 violence.
