Chinar Super League is back for fifth season

SHARJAH: The Chinar Super League is returning for its fifth straight season to provide fireworks and entertainment to the people living in the United Arab Emirates.

The cricket tournament, which is being organised by the Pak Chinar Wing at Al Bataya Ground in Sharjah and Oval Ground in Ajman, will roll into action on February 11.

The matches between 16 teams from Kashmir, Pakistan and India will be played on February 11, 12 and 19.

All the league matches – to be played on knockout basis – will be hosted by Sharjah’s Al Bataya Ground while the semi-final and final will be staged at Oval Ground in Ajman.

The competition is offering a prize purse of AED 12,000 with the winners pocketing AED 8,000 and the runners-up taking home AED 4,000. Besides these cash awards, there will also be Man-of-the-Match and Man-of-the-Series prizes.

By holding the tournament, the organisers aim to provide talented players a platform to showcase their talent; to promote health and fitness in accordance with the vision of the UAE government; to provide an opportunity to members of the various communities to come together, in particular Kashmiri people on both sides, and also for them to understand each other’s culture; and to provide people of various communities a chance to broaden their social network.

This will be the fifth year running that the Chinar Super League is going to take place. The previous four editions of the tournament were hugely successful in terms of organisation, team participation and the standard of cricket on display.

The credit for the success of the Chinar Super League goes not only to the organisers. The Pakistani and Kashmiri business community and the sponsors have also played a major role in this regard.

The main sponsors for the Chinar Super League Season 5 are RMK Industries, Fly Hawk Real Estate, Al Ishraq Group of Companies, GHK Properties LLC, Fixit Travel & Tourism, Al Abrah Clinic, Stack Buffers Technologies, Al Arab Tents, Almarai, AJK Landscape, Faaz Enterprises and Medi Family Poly Clinic.
