CM Maryam wears Elite Police uniform

Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, made a notable appearance at the passing out parade of the province’s Elite Force, donning the distinguished Elite Police uniform. In a symbolic gesture, she emphasized the legacy of her father, Nawaz Sharif, and uncle Shehbaz Sharif, as pioneers of this force.

Accompanied by PML-N leaders and Punjab Inspector General of Police, Usman Anwar, Maryam Nawaz attended the ceremony as the chief guest in Lahore, where she inspected the parade and addressed the attendees.

Expressing her delight at being part of the ceremony, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated the successful police cadets and announced cash prizes for the top performers. She commended their dedication to national service and highlighted the significance of their role in maintaining law and order.

Addressing the cadets, Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her solidarity with them, stating, “I am one of you. I have come to the [passing out parade] ceremony wearing Elite Police uniform. This is not a uniform, but an emblem of national service very few people are honoured to have.”

In a special address to the female cadets, she acknowledged the trust bestowed upon them by their parents and their dedication to serving the nation.

This isn’t the first time Maryam Nawaz has made headlines for her attire at police events. Last month, she attended a passing-out ceremony for women constables and traffic assistants, once again adorned in Punjab police uniform, sparking discussions and garnering attention.
