COAS General Syed Asim Munir Visits Troops in Orakzai District

Rawalpindi: General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited the troops stationed in Orakzai District who recently participated in counter-terrorism operations in the Tirah Valley and surrounding areas.

During his visit, COAS was briefed on the overall security situation, ongoing intelligence-based operations, and the comprehensive measures being implemented to maintain stability in the Merged Districts.

While interacting with the officers and troops, COAS praised their high morale and readiness to respond effectively to all threats. He reiterated the Army’s resolve to comprehensively defeat the terrorist networks and eliminate any illegal activities.

Paying tribute to the Shuhada (martyrs) and Ghazis of the Army and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs), COAS emphasized that the hard-earned peace, achieved through immense national sacrifice, will be upheld at all costs. He added that the sacrifices of martyrs further strengthen the Army’s resolve to fight with dedication and spirit.

COAS also lauded the contributions of the KPK Police and LEAs, affirming that the Pakistan Army will continue to provide full support in enabling these forces to perform their duties effectively, particularly in the newly merged districts. He stressed the importance of continued capacity building for LEAs to ensure lasting peace.

Appreciating the local population’s support in assisting the security forces, COAS noted that their positive role is crucial in sustaining peace in the region.

Earlier, upon his arrival, COAS laid a wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and was received by Corps Commander Peshawar.
