Karachi: In a resolute address during the Sindh Apex Committee meeting, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the commitment of law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) and various government departments to intensify enforcement actions against a wide range of illegal activities. The primary objective is to curtail the pilferage of resources and economic losses that have been affecting the country.
The meeting, which included Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, witnessed Gen. Syed Asim Munir’s impassioned statement. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a press release highlighting the COAS’s commitment to tackling these challenges head-on.
Gen. Syed Asim Munir emphasized the vital need for synergy and cooperation among all relevant departments to ensure the successful implementation of groundbreaking initiatives.
The Provincial Apex Committee meeting provided a platform for an extensive briefing to the COAS on various critical matters. These included the revised National Action Plan, ongoing operations in the Kacha area of Sindh, security measures for foreign nationals employed on both CPEC and non-CPEC projects, efforts to repatriate illegal foreigners, foreign currency regularization measures, progress on the Karachi Transformation Plan, updates on SIFC initiatives in Sindh, and the Green Sindh Initiatives.
Participants at the meeting reiterated their collective commitment, affirming that state institutions, government departments, and the people of Sindh stand united in their pursuit of progress and prosperity for the province.
Prior to the meeting, COAS Gen. Syed Asim Munir was warmly received in Karachi by Commander Karachi Corps, marking the beginning of a series of important discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing the security, stability, and economic development of the region.
