Commander US Cent com meets with Army Chief

Rawalpindi: Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir was met by US Central Command Commander General Michael Eric Corella.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army, ISPR, Commander US Centcom General Eric Corella arrived at GHQ, where he laid wreaths on the martyrs’ memorial. A guard of honor was presented to him by the armed forces of the Pakistan Army.

Commander Centcom met Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, after which a delegation-level meeting was held.

Issues of mutual interest, regional stability and security situation including defense and security cooperation, especially bilateral military relations were discussed in the meeting.

Commander Centcom appreciated Pakistan’s achievements in the war against terrorism. He appreciated Pakistan’s role in flood relief and regional peace.

The US military delegation will also visit the Pakistan-Afghan Torkham border in Khyber district today, where it will be briefed on counter-terrorism and border management procedures on the Pak-Afghan border.
