Crackdown on Gold Mafia and Smugglers by Intelligence and Law Enforcement Agencies

Islamabad: In a significant move to curb illegal gold activities, intelligence and law enforcement agencies have initiated a targeted crackdown on the gold mafia and smugglers, according to reliable sources.

Sources indicate that a specialized task force has been established with the primary objective of apprehending individuals involved in gold smuggling and associated illegal activities. The task force has wasted no time in compiling comprehensive lists of suspects believed to be linked to these illicit operations.

Furthermore, in a bid to modernize and enhance oversight of gold transactions, the task force is actively working to digitize the buying and selling of gold. This initiative is expected to provide authorities with better tools for tracking gold-related transactions and curbing smuggling effectively.

It’s worth noting that the gold market has already witnessed a decline in prices, and this intensified effort against gold-related illegal activities is poised to further disrupt and deter illicit operations in the sector. This concerted action reflects the government’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring transparency in the gold trade.
