Cyclone Biparjoy now 550km away from Karachi

Karachi: Cyclone Biperjoy is moving closer and is likely to hit Thatta and Indian Gujarat by Thursday, June 15.

The Department of Meteorology has issued the 14th alert regarding the cyclone formed in the Arabian Sea, according to which the distance of the storm has further reduced from Karachi to only 550 km, the storm is 530 km from Badin and 650 km from Ormara.

The Meteorological Department says that a very severe storm from the Arabian Sea may hit Kati Bandar (Sindh) and Indian Gujarat on the afternoon of June 15. There may be 300 mm of rain with wind and thunder in the coastal areas of rural Sindh. Rain is likely from evening, due to the effects of cyclone, Karachi may record 100 mm of rain in 24 hours.

According to the Department of Meteorology, the track of the storm will remain towards the north until the morning of June 14, after changing direction on June 15, it will cross Kati Bandar of rural Sindh and Indian Gujarat. Kilometers per hour.

According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclone will move in the north direction till the morning of June 14 and then in the north-east direction and it is likely to hit the coast of Keti Bandar (Sindh) and Indian Gujarat in the afternoon of June 15 in the form of a severe cyclone. The Cyclone Warning Center of Meteorology is continuously monitoring the storm.

During the possible impact, if the cyclone reaches the coast of Southeast Sindh, widespread gales, thundershowers, heavy rains with gusty winds and gusty winds may occur in the districts of Thatta, Sajawal, Badin, Tharparkar and Umarkot during June 13 to 17. The speed of which can be recorded from 80 to 120 km per hour.

The center of the storm is in the surrounding sea and the maximum wave height is being recorded at 35 to 40 feet. On behalf of Hilal Ahmarsand, the process of evacuation of the population near the coastal belt in Badin has been started, several families have been moved to safe places, the process of moving to concrete buildings will continue today.
