Czechia prepares for record-breaking tourism season in 2024

PRAGUE: Czechia is gearing up for another remarkable tourism season, set to surpass last year’s record-breaking visitor numbers.

With over 22 million tourists in 2023, this year promises even greater numbers, strengthening the country’s status as a premier European destination.

Prague, the capital city, is at the heart of this tourism boom, attracting visitors from all over the world with its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant cultural scene.

Throughout July and August, Prague anticipates welcoming over 1.5 million tourists, marking a significant increase from previous years and underscoring its growing charm as a must-visit city in Europe. Visitors flock to Prague not only for its iconic landmarks such as Prague Castle and Charles Bridge but also for its dynamic arts scene, bustling markets, and world-class dining options.

František Reismüller, Director of CzechTourism, said, “The summer season will be strong, with a substantial number of foreigners coming. Czechia is not just a destination, it’s an experience. The enchanting town of Český Krumlov, renowned for its medieval charm, offers a picturesque escape into history with its winding cobblestone streets and architecture. Nature enthusiasts find solace in the Prachovské skály (Prachov Rocks), a striking sandstone labyrinth nestled in Bohemian Paradise, ideal for hiking and rock climbing amid stunning natural vistas.
