DUBAI: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) has launched the 8th edition of its “Creative Sponsorship Program,” designed to nurture young talent and encourage innovative solutions in line with the UAE’s knowledge-based economy goals and the Centennial 2071 objectives.
The program was inaugurated at the Rochester Institute of Technology – Dubai with an address by GDRFA Director General Lt Gen Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, who described the initiative as “an investment in people – the true wealth of the UAE.” He said creativity had become central to the organisation’s identity, strengthening Dubai’s position as a hub for innovation.

The launch was attended by senior officials, including Maj Gen Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, GDRFA deputy director general, and other government leaders such as Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, DG of the Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority; Dr Abdulrahman Hassan Al Muaini, assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism; and Saeed Al Tayer, CEO of Institutional Support at the Community Development Authority.
This year’s edition featured 39 participants showcasing projects on proactivity, AI, digital transformation and future readiness through the Innovation Accelerator Lab. Accredited by the Global Innovation Institute, the program is based on the UAE Innovation Model and aims to reinforce a culture of excellence and smart transformation across Dubai’s institutions.
