DUBAI: Unlocking a new chapter in security cooperation, the Dubai Mounted Police Station recently welcomed a delegation from the Fujairah Police.
The strategic visit aimed at benchmarking operational standards, exchanging best practices in horse training and preparation, educating on the roles of trainers and equestrians, and highlighting community outreach programmes.
Expert Major General Mohammed Issa Al Adhab, Director of the Dubai Mounted Police Station, and Major General Dr Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Jebel Ali Police Station and Chairperson of the Dubai Police Council for Directors of Police Stations, welcomed the delegation, which was headed by Brigadier Dr Ali Rashid Bin Nayea Al Tunaiji, Head of Fujairah Police Training Centre, accompanied by several senior officers.
At the onset of the meeting, Al Adhab expressed Dubai Police’s eagerness, per the directive of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, to share knowledge with all government agencies.
“Such initiatives aim to enhance services to community members, contribute to their happiness, and strengthen overall security systems,” he said.
Brigadier Al Tunaiji, on behalf of His Excellency Major General Mohammed Ahmed Bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, conveyed his gratitude to Dubai Police for their warm welcome and commitment to knowledge exchange in equestrian policing.
The Fujairah delegation delved into the history of the Dubai Mounted Police Station since 1976 and were briefed on the operational, administrative, and community services offered by the various departments of the Station. These include equestrian training, riders’ preparation for endurance races, equine-assisted therapy for people of determination, horse show performances, and more.
The visiting delegation was also briefed on the Station’s accomplishments in patrols conducted last year, criminal and traffic cases the Station’s contributed to, and the pivotal role played during the implementation of Covid-19 preventative measures. Furthermore, they were informed about various security campaigns conducted in collaboration with police stations across Dubai and their results, as well as diverse participation in military parades locally and internationally.
After the meeting, Major General Al Adhab took the delegation on a tour of the horse stables equipped with all necessary services, from strawn bedding and horse washing and care facilities to grooming, training, hoof repairs, and horseshoe fitting. They were also introduced to the veterinary services available at the Station.
The visit concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields between the two parties.
