Dubai: PM Kakar Explores Pakistan Pavilion at UN COP 28

Dubai: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar paid a visit to the Pakistan Pavilion during the United Nations’ 28th Conference of Parties (COP 28).

The prime minister engaged in a comprehensive briefing on the noteworthy initiatives undertaken by Pakistan in the ongoing negotiations, particularly focusing on the operationalization of the Loss and Damage Fund.

One key highlight was the presentation on the ‘Living Indus Initiative,’ a transformative effort aimed at revitalizing the health of the Indus Basin in Pakistan. This initiative utilizes climate-resilient approaches and nature-based solutions, aligning with global sustainability goals.

During his visit, Prime Minister Kakar had the opportunity to interact with Pakistani climate experts present at the Pavilion. He expressed appreciation for their dedication and hard work in addressing climate change risks and mitigating their impact.

The Caretaker Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Climate Change, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, accompanied the prime minister during this insightful visit.

The engagement at the Pakistan Pavilion underscores the nation’s commitment to proactive participation in global efforts to combat climate change, showcasing pioneering initiatives and the collaborative spirit of its experts on the international stage.
