DUBAI: His Excellency Major General Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, Acting Commander-in-Cheif of Dubai Police, accompanied by Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, visited the Dubai Police stand at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023, which is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 1-4.
Accompanied by Brigadier Misbah Saeed Al Ghafli, Deputy Director of the General Department for Organisations Protective Security and Emergency; Brigadier Harib Al Shamsi, Assistant Director for Administration Affairs; and Brigadier Khalfan Obeid Al Jallaf, Director of Tourism Police, bin Thani praised the efforts of the team participating in the exhibition, emphasising that the Dubai Police is keen on participating in various events and exhibitions in Dubai, particularly those related to the tourism sector.
“This is due to the importance of enhancing awareness among tourists, visitors, and the general public regarding the security, community, and technological services provided by Dubai Police, which enrich the tourist or visitor’s experience in the emirate and reinforce their sense of security and safety, thus supporting Dubai Police’s strategic objective of promoting a safe environment and a happy society,” he said.
During his tour, bin Thani was briefed on the services related to the tourism sector, including the Tourism Police, Sail Safely service, Dubai Police Museum, Es’aad Card, Resilience Centre, Inmates Products, Hatta Police Station’s Al Shuja’an (Brave) Team, Lost & Found service, the smart Dubai Police app that offers community, criminal, and traffic services, ‘Al A’sas’ Unit, bicycles, and tourist security patrols.
bin Thani listened to Brigadier Harib Al Shamsi’s explanation about the services and the facilitation they provide for tourists and visitors, allowing them to access services through smart and electronic platforms that adhere to the highest international standards.
Al Shamsi highlighted Dubai Police’s commitment to utilising all resources to sustain the development of services offered to the public and to anticipate the future of the tourism sector, aiming to elevate the quality of services and the happiness of tourists, citizens, and residents in the country.
Al Shamsi also explained that this year’s Dubai Police stand offers workshops and awareness lectures on the various tourism services provided throughout the year, which enable tourists to enjoy a rich travel experience.
