Dubai Police Empowers Human Talents with ‘Innovation and Development’ Diploma

DUBAI: Dubai Police is driving innovation to new heights with the launch of the fourth edition of its ‘Innovation and Development’ police diploma, bringing together 20 talented participants from diverse sectors and specialties in the Force.

The diploma is designed to cultivate creativity and empower Dubai Police’s talents and cadres to generate innovative ideas that would contribute to keeping the community safe and secure.

Colonel Ibrahim Bin Saba Al Marri, President of the Dubai Police Innovation Council, noted that the Force is always keen to promote the culture of innovation and equip its individuals with the skills and resources needed to maintain safety and security and ensure the sustainability of developing the innovation system.

“Under the guidance of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and follow-up from Major General Ahmed Rafea, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administration Affairs, the ‘Innovation and Development diploma is a shining example of Dubai Police’s unwavering commitment to excellence,” he added.

Col. Bin Saba indicated that the diploma, which is delivered by Dr. Sayed Ahmed bin Rawan, consultant in institutional innovation and resilience, offers an array of specialised courses in innovation, innovation mentality, innovation programmes, innovation leaders, innovation strategy, and innovation culture.

Field Visits

Major Dr. Khaled Al Mazrouei, Head of the Innovation Labs Section at the Knowledge and Innovation Development Department in the General Department of Administrative Affairs, said that the ‘Innovation and Development’ diploma is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training.

“All participants will also have the opportunity to visit specialised technology companies abroad and explore international best practices in the field of technology,” he added.

Continuing his remarks, Al Mazrouei highlighted that the diploma has already celebrated the graduation of 100 graduates since its launch in 2020. “The selection process for admission to the diploma is rigorous and includes strict criteria and testing. Those who successfully pass the tests are accepted into the programme and move on to the practical aspect at the Dubai Police’s Innovation Labs to work on innovative projects subjected to a preliminary evaluation of their viability and potential impact. Once approved, the projects are implemented, and their success is evaluated through an initial assessment. Finally, a comprehensive evaluation is conducted to measure the effectiveness and impact of the projects, followed by the cohort’s graduation at the end of the year,” he continued.

The ‘Innovation and Development’ police diploma is a testament to Dubai Police’s unwavering commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation and providing the best possible services to the community by equipping its workforce with the innovative tools to maintain safety and security, Al Mazrouei concluded.
