Dubai: Organized by the Positive Spirit Initiative and Bur Dubai Police Station, in partnership with their strategic partners, have recently concluded Al Quoz Ramadan Championship in the presence of Brigadier Dr. Ahmad Al Saadi, Deputy Director of the General Department for Community Happiness at Dubai Police, and Colonel Rashed Mohammad A, Deputy Director of Bur Dubai Police Station.
The closing ceremony was also attended by Dr Saleh Al Makhdoum from Dubai Municipality – Dubai Parks, Moataz Bellah Al Sharif from Dubai Sports Council, Abdullah Al Kohaji from the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, Khalifa Dhahi from Dubai Customs, Hamid Al Suwaidi, coach of the UAE Beach Football Team, Ibrahim Al-Mansouri, international lecturer for beach football referees, Fatima Bu Hujair, General Coordinator of the Positive Spirit Initiative, and participating teams.
Brigadier Al Saadi emphasized that the Al Quoz Ramadan Championship was organized as part of Dubai Police’s commitment to hosting various sports events and activities that enhance communication between Dubai Police and community members, promoting sports as a way of life and a healthy lifestyle for individuals. The event supports the strategic directions of Dubai Police to make society happy and reinforces the values established by the Positive Spirit Initiative through its ongoing activities, such as tolerance, coexistence, acceptance of other cultures, enhancing the quality of life, and fostering social harmony.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Saadi, accompanied by Colonel Al Shehi, honoured the strategic partners, represented by Dubai Municipality – Dubai Parks, Dubai Sports Council, Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, Dubai Customs, Adam Vital Hospital, and Union Safa Academy, commending their efforts that contributed to the success of the championship and achieving its goals. The championship witnessed the participation of 16 senior football teams, eight junior football teams, seven volleyball teams, and eight tug-of-war teams.
Brigadier Al Saadi awarded Al Quoz team, the first-place winner in the tug-of-war competition, followed by the Positive Spirit team in second place. The TECOM team, which won first place in volleyball competitions, was honoured, followed by Al Quoz Volley A in second place. The Blue Academy team, which secured first place in junior football competitions, was honoured, followed by Al Safa team in second place. Al Istiqlal team, which won first place in senior football competitions, was honoured, followed by Beach Academy in second place and Al-Mas team in third place. Additionally, the best referee, best player, best goalkeeper, and top scorer of the championship were honoured.
