DUBAI: Dubai Police, represented by the Positive Spirit and Al Qusais Police Station, recently organised the Communities Volleyball Tournament in Al Nahda Indoor Hall at Shabab Al Ahli Club, with enthusiastic participation from 18 teams representing Al Nahda, Al Twar, Al Qusais, and Al Muhaisnah neighbourhoods.
This tournament is part of the ongoing efforts by the Positive Spirit initiative to organise a variety of sporting events aimed at fostering communication among diverse communities, promoting community happiness, and embracing sports as a lifestyle.
The coordinator of the Positive Spirit initiative, Fatima Buhajeer, affirmed that this tournament is part of several tournaments and programmes launched by Positive Spirit in collaboration with internal and external partners, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life, promoting social harmony, and instilling values such as tolerance, coexistence among community members, and respect of others.
The tournament concluded with the Jian team being crowned as the champions in the youth category. The Rychee team closely followed them as the first runners-up, and the Abbas team as the second runners-up. In the men’s team category, the FEVA team won the champions’ title, while AP Champs secured the first-place position and VHKT secured second place.
The tournament witnessed the presence of Major Saeed Khalifa Al Hanawi, Head of the Criminal Records Section at Al Qusais Police Station, Lieutenant Muhammad Al Khazraji, Lieutenant Maryam Abdullah, Ms Fatima Buhajeer, and Khaled Muhammad Darwish, Director of Sports Halls for the Sports Games Sector at Shabab Al Ahli Club.
