DUBAI: Brigadier Majid Al-Suwaidi, Director of Al Barsha Police Station, announced that the Dubai Police Council for Directors of Police Stations, in collaboration with partners, has distributed 280,000 Iftar meals during the first half of the holy month of Ramadan to motorists just before the Maghrib prayer call.
This initiative, called ‘Takaatuf’, is being implemented by the Council to enhance community partnership, tolerance, and brotherhood among all segments of society and to promote safe driving on the roads, ensuring the safety of drivers and road users throughout the holy month.
Brigadier Al-Suwaidi emphasised that Dubai Police, represented by the Dubai Police Council for Directors of Police Stations, is keen to build permanent bridges of cooperation with charitable organisations and to strengthen joint collaboration, especially in humanitarian projects and initiatives, in line with their strategic objectives to create a happy community.
Brigadier Al-Suwaidi further explained that the Takaatuf initiative distributes Iftar meals, embodying Emirati values and noble principles and fostering a culture of benevolence. Additionally, it raises awareness among drivers and road users to be cautious and attentive, avoid reckless driving, and ultimately enhance traffic safety.
Brigadier Al-Suwaidi also noted that the Dubai Police Council for Directors of Police Stations distributes Iftar meals at 18 locations daily, with the assistance of 458 male and female volunteers.
