DUBAI: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs Dubai welcomed passengers arriving in the UAE on December 18 with a special passport stamp carrying the message “UAE – Qatar, Wishing You a Happy National Day,” reflecting the strong fraternal ties between the two countries.

As part of the initiative, GCC passport counters were decorated with the Qatari flag, while smart gates were illuminated in maroon tones inspired by Qatar’s national colours. A dedicated fast-track lane was also arranged to facilitate the smooth movement of arriving passengers. Frontline officers wore themed scarves, mascots Salem and Salama greeted travellers, and commemorative gifts were distributed to mark the occasion.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri said the gesture symbolised brotherhood that goes beyond geography and reaffirmed the commitment to ensuring that every visitor experiences a warm and respectful welcome on arrival. He added that the aim was to provide travellers with a smooth and welcoming entry experience.
